Dr Abubakar Bashir

 

Dr Abubakar Bashir is a holder of B.Sc. and M.Sc. Architecture. He also holds a
Ph.D. in Built Environment from the University of Wolverhampton. He has extensive
experience in conducting research in architecture and project management, as well as
in teaching architecture and construction related subjects. His research speciality
includes Islamic Architecture, Health and Safety and Construction Project
Management.

Dr Abubakar Bashir has worked as a post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Markfield
Institute of Higher Education (affiliated to Newman University Birmingham) where
he conducted cutting-edge research that identified the religious needs of low and
middle-income families in different housing types in the Midlands (UK). The research
focused on how cultural factors influence architectural designs in terms of functional
space requirement, spatial arrangement, property values etc. The research developed
prototype residential designs for high-income, middle-income and low-income users.
